Home Hospice Services

Hospice is intended to offer comfort to patients and loved ones who choose quality of life over a cure for their terminal illness. It’s an option for patients that have a life expectancy of six months or less, which is determined by your physician. We provide at home hospice services that focus on providing the most positive experience possible during this difficult time. We also accommodate for non-terminal condition related care. If you wish to receive regular medical care for other conditions, we can work with you on this plan as well.

Respite Care and Short Term Relief For Caregivers

When a family member is ill and needs to be constantly tended to, it can be straining and difficult for the caregivers closest to them. Extended periods in this state can lead to exhaustion and burnout. Respite care is an important service that we extend to the patient’s surrounding family members. Our caregivers will take over for you for as many days as needed, and will do so with great compassion and care.

Palliative Care for Cancer Patients at Home

Palliative care services differ from hospice care and offer an extra layer of support at home that can make a great difference to your loved one’s quality of life. It encompasses a wide range of services to help patients outside of the hospital manage their serious illness. We provide expert pain and symptom control, arrange for nurses to come to your home and cut out any unwanted trips to the emergency room. We will work with your doctor for as long as we need to, to understand your situation and how we can help make your at home palliative care as comfortable as possible.

Skilled Nursing Care

Home care for cancer patients will commonly need skilled nursing care at some point. An RN or LVN will perform duties at home, so you don’t need to make extra trips to the hospital. These services include but are not limited to the following:

• Diabetic Monitoring

• Infusions and Injections

Nursing Aids and Home Health Aides

These are the backbone and support team that we feel everyone needs who is receiving cancer home care in Miami and beyond.  Your loved one will indeed have someone around the clock if need be to fulfill their needs completely, safely and comfortably.

Nursing aides can take over the responsibilities set out in the care plan that the RN creates. Home health aides may work to make a comfortable and clean surrounding for the patient. They will also be there to provide any additional support needed to the family members and primary caregivers.
